PROJECT BRIEF
For the Fort Worth Zoo’s sloth and aviary habitat, I created a series of custom illustrated identification signs highlighting several bird species within the exhibit. The goal was to make species information easy to spot and engaging for guests while fitting naturally within the dense, tropical environment of the aviary. Each sign combines a short description, fun fact, and a large illustrated bird portrait to help visitors quickly connect what they see in the habitat with the information on the sign.
SOLUTION
I developed a cohesive illustration and signage system using bold color, simplified shapes, and expressive bird portraits that remain scientifically recognizable. Organic sign shapes and vibrant backgrounds help the graphics stand out among the foliage while still feeling integrated into the environment. The result is a playful but educational visual system that improves species identification and adds personality to the aviary experience.
